Hello dear reader! As a professional organizer, I know first-hand how hectic life can get. Between work, family, friends, and everything in between, there never seems to be enough hours in the day. I used to constantly feel overwhelmed trying to get it all done, but through trial and error (and let me tell you, there were a lot of errors!), I’ve figured out a time management system that works.

10 Time Management Tips
These 10 time management tips have been total game changers for me, and I know they can help you achieve time management success too:
1. Start your day with the most important task. I like to tackle my biggest to-do item first thing in the morning when I’m feeling fresh and have the most energy. This gives me a sense of accomplishment and motivation to power through the rest of the day.
2. Use the 80/20 rule. Identify the 20% of tasks that produce 80% of your results and focus on those. Delegate or eliminate the rest.
3. Batch similar tasks. For instance, respond to all emails at once rather than in between other activities. This helps you get into a groove.
4. Take breaks. Our productivity declines after long periods of focused work. Take 5-10 minutes every 60-90 minutes to recharge.
5. Limit distractions. Silence phone notifications, close unneeded browser tabs, and find a quiet space to work when possible.
6. Use timeboxing. Assign a set time limit to each task to avoid getting sucked into rabbit holes.
7. Follow the 2-minute rule. If a task will take less than 2 minutes, do it right away rather than adding it to your to-do list.
8. Prioritize self-care. Block out time for healthy meals, exercise, and rest. You can’t pour from an empty cup!
9. Declutter your environment. Visual clutter competes for our attention and slows us down. Keep your space tidy.
10. Say no. It’s OK to decline requests that don’t align with your priorities. Protect your time and energy.
Implementing even a few of these tips can make a big difference in how much you accomplish each day. Give them a try and let me know how it goes! Feel free to reach out anytime for personalized time management coaching. Wishing you focus, flow, and fun on your journey to time management success!
