Hey there, it’s Nicole here and in this post I want to talk about something that affects all of us – getting organized! As women, we have a lot on our plates – family, work, social lives – and keeping it all together can be a challenge. But having an organized home and schedule is so important for reducing stress and improving productivity. So grab your planner and let’s do this!

Tip 1: Declutter
First things first – decluttering. Look around your house objectively and identify areas of clutter. Our stuff can really start to pile up without us noticing!
Pro tip: Start in your bedroom. Find things to toss or don’t belong in your bedroom and then, put away your laundry, make your bed, and clear off your dresser.
Tip 2: Tackle One Problem Area a Week
Set aside time each week to tackle one problem area – a junk drawer, the hall closet, the garage.
Be ruthless and get rid of anything you don’t need, use, or love.
Less stuff = less mess.
Donate, recycle, sell items if possible.
Tip 3: Storage Solutions
Next up – storage solutions (check out these posts on bathroom organizing and storage solution ideas and kitchen and pantry organizing storage solutions). Invest in items like baskets, bins, organizers and shelves to corral your belongings.
Label containers so you and others can easily find things.
Designate spots for keys, bags, shoes, mail, etc. so those items have a home.
Get creative with vertical storage on walls, under beds and in closets to maximize every inch.
Tip 4: Tidy and Clean
Now for the fun part – tidying and deep cleaning!
Schedule this regularly, even if it’s just 30 minutes 2-3 times a week.
Clear surfaces, put everything in its designated spot, vacuum, mop, dust, scrub – feel that sense of accomplishment!
You can make it fun if it’s not your “thing.” Play energizing music and make it an enjoyable ritual.
I love a good scent and recommend using products that not only smell good, but are also natural. I’ll often make my own cleaners, but for bathrooms, I also recommend using the eucalyptus + mint Method cleaner by Target.

Tip 5: Routines and Habits
Get ahead of the game with routines and habits.
Having consistent daily and weekly household tasks will keep chaos at bay.
Do laundry on Mondays, change sheets on Wednesdays, pay bills on Fridays.
Build in what works for you and stick to it.
Tip 6: Plan and Schedule
Planning and scheduling is key for organizing your time.
Use a planner to map out daily to-dos, appointments, social events, etc.
Schedule blocks for work, exercise, meal prep and family time.
Prioritize and focus on what matters most. Don’t overbook yourself!
Tip 7: Embrace Technology
Embrace technology to get organized digitally – calendar alerts, file storage systems, apps for notes and lists.
Back up your data regularly.
Marie Kondo your inbox and unsubscribe from emails you don’t need.
Your computer files should spark joy too!
Tip 8: Meal Prep
Meal prep is an amazing way to organize your healthy eating.
Cook batches of staples on your day off – grains, proteins, chopped veggies.
Have ingredients ready to throw together quick meals on busy days.
Prep smoothie bags you can grab and blend.
This saves so much time!
I recommend these best-selling meal prep containers from Amazon (click on the image to find out more or purchase):
Tip 9: Self-Care
Self-care is essential too!
Don’t forget to schedule in daily moments just for yourself, as well as longer weekly practices like baths, meditation, journaling, exercise.
Protect this time in your planner. You can’t pour from an empty cup!
Tip 10: Be Intentional
Lastly, start each day intentionally.
Make your bed, drink some water, set priorities for the day.
End the day by tidying up, prepping for tomorrow, and reflecting.
Bookend your days purposefully.
Whew, that was a lot of tips! But start small and focus on one area at a time. Building sustainable habits over time leads to big results. You’ve got this! Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions. Here’s to more joy and peace as we get organized on this journey.
